At IIFAC, we are committed to minimizing the environmental impact caused by our work, including limiting all unnecessary CO2 creation as possible. In order to achieve this, we are:

Reducing Office Electricity by

• Turning off computers and lights when not in use
• Using laptops instead of desk top computer when possible
• Limiting use of air-conditioning and never use heating!
• Using low wattage bulbs.

Reducing Office Waste by

• Re-using paper and packaging wherever possible.
• Reducing waste to a minimum and recycling materials to the maximum.
• Using ceramic coffee mugs and “real” glasses instead of disposable ones.
• Encouraging our clients to recycle and not to use disposable water bottles, cups, etc., to minimize paper and plastic used in meetings and conferences.

Reducing Unnecessary Travel by

• Reducing air and vehicle travel when possible.
• Conducting more of our business over the internet and telephone.
• Carpooling when possible.
• Locating our office beside our bank and other services to promote walking.

Purchasing Carbon Credits

• Because our international work requires a great deal of air travel, we participate in the carbon offset program of the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve in Queretaro, Mexico (www.sierragorda.net).
